Darjeeling Soom First Flush

Anticipation runs high each spring as Darjeeling drinkers patiently await the first tea of the season. This annual ritual, known as the First Flush, is pure tea magic. This year, we offer a tiny lot from our friends at the Soom garden, plucked during the second week of March. Among the most respected names in Darjeeling First Flush, Soom means "triangle" in the local Lepcha language--an allusion to both the shape of the land and the majesty of the towering peaks that serve as its backdrop. The bright, sunshine yellow cup and herbaceous, floral profile perfectly capture the spirit of renewal in the Himalayas.

Preparation: One heaping teaspoon per 8oz cup of filtered, boiling water. Allow to brew 2 minutes.
