Yunnan Province, the birthplace of tea, is famous for its golden-tipped black teas derived from ancient Assamica variety tea plants. These prizes are among the most intriguing teas you will ever taste - malty, creamy and redolent of truffles. Largely without bite, they reflect the beauty of the complex landscape in which they are cultivated.

My favorite tea, 31st Oct 2012

For some time now, this has been my favorite tea, and the favorite of my youngest daughter. We do a little bonding over the occasional cuppa with a little shortbread on the side.
Just a tiny bit smoky, this is a rich, nutty cup with beautiful dark orangy brown color. If you don't follow instructions and let it steep too long, it can be rescued with a little whole milk. I rather like it that way on purpose sometimes. This is a smooth, comforting cup of tea.
Smooth Black Tea, 8th Oct 2012

Thus far, this is my family's favorite black tea. It is very smooth, never styiff, very much like truffles. We have reordered it several times. Our only caution is it does not make the best iced tea.

This tea has a decided smoky flavor that was not mentioned in the official description. Its a nice taste but it should have been mentioned.
